Discovery Beach Resort Reviews & Ratings

Our family has enjoyed Discovery Beach Resort for many years, most recently January 2024. The spacious suites are well-appointed and every balcony overlooks the ocean and the famous Cocoa Beach Pier. The resort’s large pool, jacuzzi, and sauna are clean and lovely and it is only a few steps past the natural sea grass to the beach. DBR has an on-site restaurant/Tiki Bar, basketball and tennis courts, plus an activity director offering site programming and advice/discount tickets on many nearby attractions.

Cocoa Beach is the nearest beach to Disney, Universal Studios and Orlando. NASA and Cape Canaveral Cruise Port within 10 min. drive. Daytona Beach 90 mins north.

ADMINISTRATOR —Isn’t it time after 18 years to take down the 2006 reviews commenting about unruly kids around the pool. In our large experience with the resort, there has never been such an issue.

This smaller resort is just great. Every unit faces the ocean with balconies. We have enjoyed many years but alas with health problems we are no longer able to travel. The pier is just a 5 minute walk away, grocery across the street, everything close and convenient. Lovely staff, always welcoming and accommodating. We are hoping another family will enjoy this as much as we have.

Family oriented place, love the views, You can see the shuttle go off from Kennedy space Center right from your room! Has heated pool, hot tub, sauna , health club, restaurant and lounge, tennis court, basketball court and a game room at the resort.

Discovery Beach Resort is right on the beach in Cocoa Beach, Florida. It has wonderful, friendly staff. The resort has sand toys, boogie boards and beach chairs to use and/or rent. (at least they did when I visited last time). There is a bar and grill on site. Plenty of parking. The condo is very nice and cozy and nicely equipped kitchen. The two twins, in the 2nd bedroom, can be made into a queen bed.

We love Discovery Beach Resort and have many family memories over the last 15 years. Our reason for selling is that we moved to assisted living and no longer travel.

Wonderful resort, just a short walk to Cocoa Beach Pier. Perfect for families. Resort has game room and a movie theatre on the main floor. All units have a balcony facing the ocean for that morning sunrise. Very spacious and comfortable resort condo.

Our kids loved to come to this resort ! Now our grandsons love to come here too! It's very family friendly and the staff is great too!

Great place to be at the beach but visit the Orlando attractions which are less than an hour drive. The units are spacious and comfortable with 2 bathrooms and full kitchen. They have all been updated. It was convenient to have washer/dryer available in the unit. The family enjoyed the tennis court and playing sand volleyball. The beach is big and beautiful and we all enjoyed riding the surf on boggie boards. There is plenty of seating at the pool and in the afternoon there were games and prizes. We were close to everything - spent a day at the waterpark at Disney with friends. It was great to be able to walk to the Pier - they rent fishing poles & my son caught a big fish! We also went to Kennedy Space Center.

Nice, clean resort located within walking distance of several restaurants/bars. An excellent staff that that always looks forward to assisting with any questions.

We always enjoy our vacations at Discovery Beach. The resort is close to shopping and cruise terminals, yet it's right on the beach. The staff at DB are also very friendly and helpful.

It's always a pleasure to stay at Discovery Beach Resort. The units are spacious and fully equipped. We enjoy lounging at the pool. The pool is warm and clean and the hot tub is great! Love walking on the beach. The pier is steps away and you can enjoy dining there. Everything you need is close by. Lots of dining options are available. Cape Canaveral is a short ride and this is the closest beach to all the Orlando attractions, so when the kids are coming, they can take a day trip for some fun.

Our family of six stayed here 7 times before we decided to purchase. This is not a brand new resort, but it is pretty, comfortable, well-maintained, and spacious. Every room faces the ocean, has a full kitchen, washer, dryer, and has its own private balcony. The beach is beautiful, and the pool is always clean and well-maintained. The staff is very friendly, and we love this place.

Absolutely loved Discovery Beach. It’s so close to shopping, dining and a couple minute walk to the Cocoa Beach Pier. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Kids had a wonderful time. Very short walk to the beach even for someone using a walker. All units are oceanfront and the balcony was wonderful. Can’t wait to go again.

Perfect location! Very nice units which have been updated. Nice pool, all units have patio that face the beach. Friendly and helpful staff. Publix is within walking distance. Close to pier.

Resort is all around excellent. The staff is very courteous and helpful. If we needed something they responded quickly.

The resort has been upgraded in the last couple of years. New furniture, draperies and bedding. Also new kitchen cabinetry, lighting and granite counter tops. Beautiful! The facility is well maintained inside and out.

The resort is walking distance from the newly renovated Cocoa Beach Pier. There are many things to do near the resort and major attractions (Disney, Universal, Sea World, I-Drive...) a little over an hours drive away.

We have been coming to this resort for over ten years and look forward to our yearly retreat. The resort and the area has gotten better every year. Our family highly recommends Discovery Beach Resort for an enjoyable vacation.

The overall resort was excellent. The staff go out of their way to see that you and your family have a great time. The convenience for grocery shopping and restaurants could not be better. It was a very nice vacation.

Very nice complex. No wonder Interval International gives it it's highest rating (only high rating in Cocoa Beach area). Nice views from each unit looking north, south or east.

We just returned from a week at this resort and we loved it! I cannot say enough about the beautiful view from the rooms. Also, the rooms are more updated and nicer than the photo's imply. I have a 6 year old daughter and she had a wonderful time. The activities director (Maureen from Figi) here is FANTASTIC. She is such a pleasant person, and so willing to help everyone have a good time. The children's activities were a huge hit - daily at the pool - not to be missed by the kids. Bonus on our last day of stay - we were able to watch Kennedy Space Center launch a rocket from our beach. Awesome - once in a lifetime event. I would highly recommend this resort and we look forward to going back.

Stayed 4 nights at this resort and had a wonderful time! We were able to spend time at the pool and at the beach as well as attend the Daytona 500. Room was a little dated, but clean and comfortable. They are redoing rooms in May 2008 so that will be very nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Kids loved the gameroom and basketball court. Would stay here again. Actually I am buying 2 weeks here. Make sure to walk to Cazoni's Pizza if you stay here. You will be glad you did!!

Great Resort. We had a spacious two bedroom that looked out over the ocean (I believe all the rooms have this). The room was clean and updated. The beach was wonderful and wasn't very crowded and is within walking distance of the pier which has several watering holes.

The resort is within 50 minutes of Orlando, just make sure to take enough change for the three toll booths. There are plenty of original restaurants within a short drive. We also drove south from Cocoa Beach and spent a whole day visiting several of the other nearby beach communities.

Great location, most units look out over the ocean and are well appointed. Walking distance to several resturants. One of the few beaches left with natural sea grass. Cocoa Beach and the closer towns still have a "neighborhood" feel to them.
